Ross I am surprised you left off people and relationships and how we can tend to take them for granted. Davina - I have been trying to do some things for the first time but I like your idea of finding a new perspective when doing something familiar.

I know the excitement of Christmas gifts has already begun to wear off with my kids. A big, empty cardboard box for them to play in brings more excitement now.

@Davina - Hi, welcome! Finding something new is a great suggestion. Lately I've been trying new foods - some of that is going well for me, others not so great! Life can get stale when we don't do new things!

@Betsy - I'm sorry for your loss. What a great reminder though, to live life to the fullest?

@Vincent - Right on! Enjoying the things we have is really important.

Hey Ross,

This article helps as an reminder to tell us to live life to the fullest and we can always start by enjoying what we have in the present instead of thinking "when I have this then I will be happy" attitude.

Cheers

Hi Ross - I attended a funeral today for a young (32) man who packed more into his years than some 70+ year olds I know. What an example to be mindful and in the present. Thanks.

Hi Ross. There is something inviting about a park bench isn't there?

It's interesting how that happens, how we lose the enthusiasm for new things. When things are new they appeal to our senses and after a while the newness wears off because the initial stimulation is gone. Our mind starts to take over and define IT instead of the experience.

You've shared some good suggestions. What could I add? Find something "new" to do every day. Or find a new way to look at something familiar. The newness is what keeps us refreshed and moving... curious... and alive.
